Accident Only coverage helps with eligible incidents like bites, cuts, and broken bones. Accident & Illness coverage extends to accidents and illnesses such as cancer, allergies, and diabetes.

 

You can customize your coverage with options including:

  • Annual Limit (from $2,500 to $10,000)
  • Reimbursement Rate (from 70% to 90%)
  • Annual Deductible (from $100 to $1,000)

 

Coverage includes:

  • Exam fees
  • Hereditary and congenital conditions
  • Surgeries
  • Microchipping
  • Prescription medication and food
  • Diagnostic tests (bloodwork and scans)
  • Alternative therapies and behavioral issues

 

Add Preventive Care coverage for reimbursement on routine items:

  • What if my employment status changes?
    Good news! If you leave or retire from your current employer, you can continue your coverage without interruption. You'll also retain the associate discount applied to your plan.

  • When would my coverage start?
    Spot plans become effective the day after purchase. Accident & Illness coverage begins 14 days after the effective date. There is no waiting period for preventive care, allowing you to start using it the next day. Additionally, you can access the 24/7 vet telehealth service and Spot Perks Program immediately.

  • What if my pet currently has an illness?

    You do not need to answer health questions or undergo a medical exam to enroll in Spot. We will collect any vet records from your veterinarians once you submit your first claim.

     

    If you are newly enrolling in Spot Pet and did not have active coverage through Nationwide Pet, any illness or injury your pet had before your coverage started is called a pre-existing condition. While no pet insurer covers pre-existing conditions, getting coverage for your pet now will cover most future accidents and illnesses should something happen.

     

    If you are currently actively enrolled with Nationwide Pet through Belk and want to move to Spot Pet; pre-existing conditions will be waived if you follow the steps for the takeover provision.
